WELCOME TO 50:1
Making the world better one child at a time.
50:1  was developed with one goal in mind - to give every young person the opportunity to own and raise an animal. 50:1's main focus is on foster and adopted families who have gone above and beyond to care for children. These families grow together in the program through new and shared challenges and experiences.
LEARNING THROUGH LIVESTOCK
Animals can teach the new generation how to become shepherds of the earth. Through this program, participants gain hands-on experience of animal husbandry and compassion. They take on responsibility and learn dedication to a project all while earning money for higher education.
HOW IT WORKS
Each qualified participant is given a choice between sheep, pig, steer, goat, or rabbit (in some cases, a participant's age may determine the options). 50:1 provides the feed, housing, and veterinary care for the animal. Each participant is required to be enrolled in 4-H and FFA. Participants commit to provide care for the animal according to rules set by 4-H and FFA.

50:1's season culminates in the participant's showing their animals at the local County Fair and selling them through auction. All monies from sale go to the participant for future use toward higher education.
